Homework for Monday

Reading: Rats of Nimh, chapters 1-3 and packet due on Wednesday

Math: Page 230-231, #1-15 all

Writer's Workshop: If you need to go back and re-do your planning, try to do some of it tonight so you can stay on task with your writing process through the rest of the week! If you need help with your planning, try this:
Main Idea: Why you should have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch
(This would become your introduction)
Detail #1: Because they are nutritious
           - Peanut butter has a lot of protein in it, so you will stay full for a long time
           - If you put your PB&J on wheat bread, you get the whole grains you need every day
           - Jelly is made from fruit, so you get some of your daily fruit intake from a PB&J
(This would become your first body paragraph, then your other details and the information that you use to support them would become their own paragraphs, as well)
** Try to keep it to about 3 details and make sure that you have support for your details and that your details support your main idea :)

And finally, Hoosier Hike #6 part 1 is due on Friday!

Pioneer Day- 11/11/11

Last Friday, all of the 4th grade classes participated in Pioneer Day.  The students quilted, made corn cakes, candles, corn husk wreaths and enjoyed creating their own horn book cookies.  They dressed like pioneers all day.  This was an excellent experience for the students and an excellent way to conclude our unit on Indiana pioneers!!
